Also joining the cast include Yaya DaCosta, Melanie Liburd and Rebecca Rittenhouse, with Kim reportedly joining as narrator and guest star.

The series is loosely based on La La‘s book and the pilot is written and executive produced by Kenya Barris, who created black-ish and more.

Group Chat is “a satirical comedy about six fly, successful women in their forties who have conquered LA and seemingly have it all. But behind their picture-perfect lives is a group chat that tells the real story — one that’s the heart line of their friendship and where the real drama unfolds. Because, in their world, the truth is even more wild, unfiltered, and juicier than anyone could ever imagine.”

La La will star as Vanessa, Stephanie as Nana, Kim as Olivia, Yaya as Simone, Melanie as Alycia and Rebecca as Christie. Additional details around their characters are unknown at this time.

The potential new series, which was first announced a year ago, is part of Kim‘s overall deal with 20th Television.

Kim is also starring in and executive producing the upcoming legal drama All’s Fair on Hulu, teaming up with Ryan Murphy.
