On Wednesday (September 17), it was announced that the late-night show has been pulled off the air indefinitely following comments Jimmy, 57, said in the wake of right-wing podcaster Charlie Kirk‘s death. Nexstar Media, who is is the largest TV station owner in the United States, made the call on the ABC late night show.

Deadline reports that Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Dana Walden ended up being the one who let Jimmy know.
About how the talk went, sources told the publication, “Both sides were very businesslike and polite.”
Apparently, Jimmy made it clear that he was not going to apologize for anything he said on the late night show about Kirk, but would be “clarifying his comments.” He was also said to want to “direct the focus on President Trump’s most fervent supporters.”
As for when the show will return, the insiders say “soon,” however…it’s unclear if Jimmy would actually want to return himself.
