The lawsuit claims that Angie was driving home from a performance as a passenger in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, which also carried her bandmates and entourage. The driver of the van lost control and it flipped over.
Angie survived the initial crash and was waiting to be helped out of the vehicle when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into the van. The lawsuit reports that Angie was ejected from the van and got pinned under it, where she died.
Angie‘s family claim the the tractor-trailer’s driver “was not paying proper attention to the roadway ahead of him” and they also say the truck’s collision mitigation system failed.
WSB-TV Atlanta reports that Angie‘s family is seeking repayment for “hospital bills, attorney fees, damages and anything else a judge deems appropriate.”
