Just two days earlier, the website Jezebel posted an article, “We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk.”

The staff wrote, “If the far-right misogynist with a bad haircut wants to villainize independent women, Jezebel is more than happy to be the hag of his nightmares.”

The article examined the politics of Charlie Kirk, the ethics of cursing a stranger, how to buy a curse on Etsy, and the aftermath of what happened after the alleged witch placed the curse.

“Now, is it ethical to curse a man I’ve never met? Probably not. But is it unethical to let him keep talking? Yes. So here we are, in the gray area. I want to make it clear, I’m not calling on dark forces to cause him harm. I just want him to wake up every morning with an inexplicable zit,” Jezebel wrote.

People sell “witch curses” on Etsy for anywhere between $2.00 to $50.00. The Jezebel writer said they purchased a $50 spell booster to “amplify the energetic support” of the spell.

Charlie was shot and killed just two days after the article was published.

The article was updated with the following statement: “This story was published on September 8. Jezebel condemns the shooting of Charlie Kirk in the strongest possible terms. We do not endorse, encourage, or excuse political violence of any kind.”

Despite a suspect being apprehended moments after the shooting, authorities say that he was not the shooter and the real suspect is still at large.

Charlie‘s last words before the shooting have been revealed.
