Ethan joined his co-stars Bobby Cannavale and Andrew Scott, as well as director Richard Linklater at the movie’s TIFF premiere on Monday (September 8) in Toronto.
Prior to the premiere, Ethan and Richard took part in a joint interview about the movie, with the actor sharing how working with the director in the past shaped his performance in this film.
“If you’re directed by the same person several times, they kind of know your entire arsenal, your whole toolkit,” he told TheWrap’s Sharon Waxman. “And Rick was basically like, ‘I don’t want you to use any tool you’ve ever used before.’ He robbed me of my vanity. He robbed me of everything.”
The upcoming movie “tells the story of legendary lyricist Lorenz Hart bravely facing the future as his professional and private life unravel at the opening night party for his former partner’s hit show Oklahoma! By the time this night is over, Hart will have confronted both a world that no longer values his talent and the seeming impossibility of love.”
Margaret Qualley also stars.
Blue Moon is set to debut in New York and Los Angeles theaters on October 17th and nationwide on October 24th. Watch the trailer here!
