Doja Cat just made a very bold choice at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards!
The 29-year-old “Jealous Type” performer just ate her lipstick on the red carpet on Sunday (September 7) at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
While posing for photos, Doja instantly went viral when she pulled out a bright red MAC lipstick, applied it in front of the cameras, and then bit into it and swallowed it.

It was actually just a stunt: the lipstick was a chocolate creation by pastry chef Amaury Guichon.
The stunt was to draw attention to Doja Cat becoming MAC’s newest global ambassador!
She confirmed the news to InStyle, saying: “I’ve been a MAC girl forever, and now I get to take that love to the global stage. Makeup is my paint, my armor, my way of creating characters–and MAC has always stood for that kind of artistry and freedom. We’re going to push it even further and make people see beauty in a whole new way.” Watch the moment above!
