If you aren’t keeping up with this lottery news, the Powerball drawing is reaching near-record highs!

There has not been a Powerball winner since June 1, and thus, the jackpot has climbed all the way into the billions!

The Wednesday night (September 3) drawing was a staggering $1.4 billion, but no ticket matched the winning numbers of 3, 16, 29, 61, 69 and 22 as the final Powerball number. Wednesday night did have a few winners for the Match 5 + Power Play ticket holders, which is worth $2 million.

Now, another drawing will take place on Saturday (September 6), which will be worth $1.7 billion if you’re the big winner. Odds are against you to win: it’s a 1-in-292 million chance that your ticket’s numbers will be called.

If you were to win, the lump sum payout would be $770.3 million. The highest ever recorded Powerball prize was just over $2 billion back in 2022.

A cancer patient won the $1.3 billion prize back in 2024.
