Charlie Hunnam is looking back at his brief time as the lead of the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise.
If you don’t know, over 10 years ago, the former Sons of Anarchy star was originally cast as Christian Grey opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. While he was replaced by Jamie Dornan, she stayed on with the franchise.
In 2014, he finally spoke out about his decision to remove himself from the franchise ahead of production beginning.
Now, he’s reflecting back.

About accepting the gig in the first place, he told Variety, “I just wasn’t thinking clearly.”
About dropping out, he said “I never looked back…No regrets at all.”
He added that he has never seen the film franchise as well.
He did run into Dakota recently, he said, and “she gave me a bit of a hard time about it in a very fun way.”
