Sorry BeyHive – Beyoncé did not attend the 2025 Emmy Awards.

Beyoncé was nominated for Beyoncé Bowl, Netflix’s standalone special of her NFL Christmas Day Halftime Show in her native Houston.

Jay-Z, 55, was nominated for producing Kendrick Lamar’s Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show.

They ended losing to Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special.

The Outstanding Variety Special award is typically given out during the Creative Arts Emmys ceremonies and since it wasn’t handed out last weekend, many believed that they moved the category to the televised event in an effort to get Beyoncé to attend.

Despite losing in this category, Beyoncé became a first-time Emmy winner this year when Beyoncé Bowl won for Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Programming. She’s now halfway to EGOT status!
