Nic Vansteenberghe is speaking out about Cierra Ortega‘s accusation against him.

The two were coupled up throughout most of their Love Island USA season seven journey, before she was removed from the villa after past racist posts resurfaced.

A month ago, she posted a TikTok saying she survived the villain edit and “I didn’t end up with the guy who never actually liked me and wanted my friend the entire time.”

After Cierra left, Nic pursued Olandria Carthen, who has been with ever since.

During an appearance on the Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast on Tuesday (August 19), Nic reacted to Cierra‘s post and shared his thoughts on what she said.

“Yeah, I saw that,” Nic said on the podcast, adding that he has not since spoken to her.

“I was taking my time to process things, and that video just was so off-putting for me,” he continued. “Especially the way I spoke — I still speak so positively about her after she posted that — and I spoke so positively about our relationship before that. I never once bashed her. I never once told her that I wasn’t interested in her.”

“I told the the first interviews I did I said like like we were in this we were exclusive. Like that’s a big thing for me. We were in this closed thing, and that I cared about her,” Nic added. “And then like through her leaving the villa and then exploring Olandria, which is what Love Island‘s about, and I found this like great connection, amazing connection with Olandria. And then she’s bashing me for that. So to me, I was like, all right, that’s I mean, I’m going to take that on the chin. That’s fine if you feel that way, but I’m going to keep moving on.”

He was then asked if Cierra stayed in the villa if things would be different.

“I mean, maybe if she stayed, things would probably be different, yeah. But things were how they went,’ he said.

Nic said that after the show, there’s a lot of change and things going on, and he has a new relationship to focus on and her post just made him feel uncomfortable.

“I’m happy where I’m at and I don’t need to indulge in the online negativity.”

At the end of July, Cierra said she would not be attending the Love Island USA season seven reunion, which just filmed last week in New York City.

The reunion, hosted by Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen is set to air NEXT Monday (August 25) on Peacock. The trailer is set to drop later this week!
