James Gunn is sharing an update on an upcoming series.
The 59-year-old director recently spoke to People and shared an update on his upcoming Amanda Waller series starring Viola Davis.
The 60-year-old actress played the role of Amanda Waller in 2016′s Suicide Squad. James shared that he’s “excited” to work with Viola on a series about the character, but revealed that it may take longer than expected.

“We’re working on it, so we’ll see what happens. Some things have moved faster than others. Waller’s not been the fastest,” James admitted to People, though the director didn’t specify what has been slowing down the series.
Despite the delays, James told the publication that he’s still excited to work with Viola on the series.
“But I can’t wait to see Viola put on their Waller pants again,” James said.
The director previously told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year that the Amanda Waller series was “a bumpy road.” He told the publication at the time, “We’ve taken a couple of cracks at it but still haven’t been able land.”
Viola is one of many Hollywood stars that regrets one of her previous roles.
