Drew has been open about her tough upbringing for much of her career. In her 1990 memoir, Little Girl Lost, Drew revealed that she began struggling with substance abuse issues by the age of 12.
“I don’t regret a thing though,” Drew revealed during the episode while talking to Bill about her issues when she was a child. “I loved all of it. It’s hilarious being a mom because you’re like, ‘Oh my God, you can’t do that.’”
This isn’t the first time Drew has gotten candid about her childhood. In 2018, she was a guest on Norm Macdonald Has a Show where she revealed that she feels like she got all of life’s struggles out of the way at a young age. She said on the show, “I got my sh– over with at, like, 14. Like, midlife crisis, institutionalized, blacklisted, no family. Got it done. And then got into the cycle of being my own parent.”
