‘Degrassi: Whatever It Takes’ Trailer: Drake Reflects on His Experience on the Show

Drake is reflecting on his time on Degrassi in a new documentary.

A trailer for Degrassi: Whatever It Takes premiered on Wednesday (August 27), as the film made its world premiere on September 13 at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.

Here’s the official synopsis: “Degrassi: Whatever It Takes dives into the behind-the-scenes truth of the Degrassi franchise—raw, real, and sometimes troubling—while celebrating the powerful legacy of a show that made teens everywhere feel seen. Whatever It Takes celebrates the groundbreaking legacy of Degrassi, a fearless teen drama that tackled taboo topics and changed TV forever, while uncovering the behind-the-scenes tensions and personal sacrifices that shaped Canada’s most iconic franchise.”

The movie includes interviews with creator Linda Schuyler, executive producer Stephen Stohn, fans like filmmaker Kevin Smith, and cast of the Degrassi universe, including Dayo Ade, Stefan Brogren, Amanda Deiseach and Maureen Deiseach, Shenae Grimes-Beech, Jake Epstein, Shane Kippel, Miriam McDonald, Stacie Mistysyn, Melinda Shankar, Amanda Stepto, Jordan Todosey and more.

In the trailer, Drake realizes he had one of his first kisses on camera.

“Damn, I never thought about it like that. It was kind of a whirlwind experience,” he reflects.

“I didn’t have a great time in high school. I just didn’t really fit in,” he also reflects.
