David Archuleta is revealing where he stands with American Idol winner David Cook.
The pair competed against one another on the 2008 season of the singing competition show. In the end, David Cook ultimately ended up walking away the winner of season 7 of American Idol while David Archuleta finished in second place.
Despite competing for first place, the pair remained friendly during the season and beyond. Now, each David continues to release music and David Archuleta is revealing the status of his friendship with David Cook.

David told PEOPLE that while the two of them were close when he and the American Idol winner both lived in Nashville, their friendship has drifted apart in the years since.
“I do not [keep in touch with David Cook] as often now that I live in L.A.,” he told PEOPLE. “I saw him more back then. We would get lunch sometimes.”
Despite not seeing each other as often, David said the two of them still talk from time to time. He said, “A few months ago he texted me, and I was like, ‘Dude, I was just thinking about you.’ And we were just like, ‘When we’re in the same place, let’s meet up.’”
