The judge in the It Ends with Us case has just handed out a ruling that impacts Blake Lively.
As you probably know, Blake accused her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and organizing a smear campaign against her in a lawsuit that she filed a few months ago. He responded by filing a countersuit against her and husband Ryan Reynolds, plus another lawsuit against The New York Times. The judge dismissed his two lawsuits.
Now, in a new update, the Judge, Judge Lewis Liman, has sided with Jed Wallace in his fight to be removed as a defendant in Blake‘s lawsuit. “The Wallace Defendant’s motion to dismiss must be granted because the Court lacks personal jurisdiction over them,” Judge Liman ruled (via Variety). “The alleged negative publicity campaign against Lively largely took place outside of New York. The few alleged actions targeting New York were taken by others, and there are no allegations suggesting the Wallace Defendants were aware of them. Therefore, the Wallace Defendants cannot be forced to defend this lawsuit in New York.”
His lawyer denied the smear campaign allegations months ago.
