Andy Byron is speaking out after being accused of an alleged affair with a co-worker after being shown on the “kiss cam” at a Coldplay concert.

The CEO of tech company Astronomer broke his silence after he became a viral sensation.

During the band’s Music of the Spheres tour at a stop in Boston on Wednesday (July 16), there was a “kiss cam” moment that went fully wrong. The camera panned to Andy and a woman who is alleged to be a fellow executive at Astronomer. They could be seen cuddling up to each other, but when shown on screen, Andy ducked out of view while the woman turned her back to the camera.

“Come on, you’re OK!” Chris could be heard saying on a microphone as he noticed the man and woman leaving the view of the camera, before then saying, “Uh oh. Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

Now, Andy has released a statement, which included an apology to his wife and family.

“I want to acknowledge the moment that’s been circulating online, and the disappointment it’s caused. What was supposed to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage,” Andy began in his statement (via CBS).

He continued, “I want to sincerely apologize to my wife, my family, and the team at Astronomer. You deserve better from me as a partner, as a father, and as a leader.”

“This is not who I want to be or how I want to represent the company I helped build. I’m taking time to reflect, to take accountability, and to figure out the next steps, personally and professionally. I ask for privacy as I navigate that process. I also want to express how troubling it is that what should have been a private moment became public without my consent. I respect artists and entertainers, but I hope we can all think more deeply about the impact of turning someone else’s life into a spectacle,” Andy said.

Andy wrapped up his statement by including a quote from a Coldplay song.

“As a friend once sang: ‘Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you,’” he wrote.
