Sydney Sweeney and Jon M. Chu‘s new project has been picked up by Amazon!
Back in April, it was revealed that the 27-year-old Euphoria actress had be cast to star in, and executive produce, the upcoming movie adaption of the video game Split Fiction, which the 45-year-old Wicked filmmaker will be directing.
On Monday (June 2), Variety confirmed that Amazon MGM Studios has finalized a deal to acquire the movie.
Keep reading to find out more…Split Fiction “blends fantasy and science fiction, following a pair of authors, Mio and Zoe, who become trapped in the worlds they wrote.” The video game is a “co-op adventure game that features gameplay mechanics involving split-screen combat, platforming challenges and differing abilities for each character.”
Deadpool & Wolverine co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are set to pen the script.
As of right now, it’s unclear if Sydney will be playing Zoe or Mio as the team is actively looking to cast her co-star.
It was also recently reported that Sydney is producing a film adaptation of another video game!
