Ryan Reynolds‘ upcoming R-rated comedy movie Animal Friends has been delayed.
The upcoming film was originally slated to be released in theaters on October 10, 2025, but now Warner Bros. is pushing back the release date by nearly seven months.
Animal Friends is a live-action and animated hybrid movie that is being billed as an “R-rated road trip adventure,” though official plot details are not public as of now.

Deadline reports that Animal Friends is now hitting theaters on May 1, 2026, just in time for the start of the summer box office season. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is also set to be released on the same day.
Also starring in Animal Friends are Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, Addison Rae, Dan Levy, Lil Rel Howery, and Ellie Bamber.
