Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez‘s wedding is supposedly taking place in the coming days in Venice, Italy…but apparently, they’ve had to change venues.
The 61-year-old billionaire Amazon founder and 55-year-old entrepreneur were said to be having their wedding party on June 28 at Scuola Grande della Misericordia in Venice, which is a historical building in the area.
However, there’s apparently been a big change.

Due to “protests and safety concerns,” People reports that they will now host the event at a venue named Arsenale, which is only accessible by boat when bridges are not down. If you’re curious, the ceremony is said to be taking place at a church called Chiesa della Madonna dell’Ort, where numerous security personnel have apparently taken post.
Security for the billionaire couple has been high, and has apparently turned the Italian city into a “fortress-like operation.”
If you don’t know, there have been ongoing protests against the wedding taking place in the historic city. The organization Greenpeace allegedly even has a sign up that says, “If you can rent Venice for your wedding you can pay more tax.”
Many want to know all about the guest list. There are numerous celebrities said to be flocking to the city after scoring an invite, however, 1 star turned down the invitation.
