Judge Lewis Liman, who is overseeing the Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively It Ends with Us legal case, has weighed in on the latest update.
On Monday (June 2), Blake‘s lawyers wrote a letter to the judge. They claimed that Justin‘s team was trying to get Blake to sign a HIPAA release to allow access to her therapy notes and other medical records as they need evidence to defend Justin against the allegations. His filing alleged that Blake was attempting to withdraw allegations to avoid turning over her medical records.
In a letter to the judge, filed yesterday, Blake‘s lawyers spoke out against the filing and claimed that the “motion was filed for a single audience: the media.”
Well, Judge Liman responded to the Plaintiff’s letter, and shut it down.

The Judge wrote, “The motion to compel…is denied based on Plaintiff’s representation that the relevant claims will be withdrawn… Lively’s request that ‘because the parties have agreed to dismiss Ms. Lively’s tenth and eleventh causes of action . . . the Court exercise its inherent authority and authority under Rule 15 to dismiss them without prejudice’ is denied without prejudice to renewal. The parties shall stipulate to whether the dismissal is with or without prejudice, or Lively shall renew her request by formal motion. For avoidance of doubt, if the claims are not dismissed, the Court will preclude Lively from offering any evidence of emotional distress.”
In Blake‘s initial lawsuit filed in December 2025, she accused Justin and others of sexual harassment on set and of organizing a smear campaign against her to damage her image. Justin denied the allegations in a statement released via his legal team.
Two months later, Blake amended her lawsuit and we recapped more of the allegations.
