Spoilers ahead if you have not seen the season finale of The Last of Us season two yet on HBO.
If you did see the season finale, you’ll know that Young Mazino‘s Jesse was shot and killed by Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) in some of the final moments of the episode.

Unfortunately, in the video games, we do know that Jesse is another one of Abby’s casualties after the death of Joel (Pedro Pascal) earlier in the season.
Young also confirmed his character is dead in a new interview.
When asked if he finished the video game beyond Jesse‘s death, he told Variety, “No. I’m dead!”
The site also asked about his character’s death: “Was there ever a world where his death was more drawn out?” He responded, “No. I think that was a perfect way for that to happen. I think that just shows the nature and brutality of this world. One slip up, and you’re gone. And I think that’s so indicative of what this show is trying to tell us. There are other deaths. You have Joel’s horrific, slow death. But I think this hits different. It hits hard. Ellie is trying to process what just happened while Tommy’s about to die next.”
Here’s a fun fact about Young if you didn’t know!
