Chris Evans is addressing his absence from the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
Last week, the 43-year-old actor’s co-stars Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, and Charlie Day were all at the film festival in the South of France to promote their new movie Honey Don’t!.
However, Chris was noticeably absent for the premiere and press events.
In a new Instagram Story posted on Sunday (May 25), Chris shared the heartwarming reason why he wasn’t at the film festival.

“I wish I could’ve been with my incredible cast and filmmakers at Cannes, but it was my mother’s 70th birthday and there are some things you just can’t miss!” Chris wrote. “Congrats everyone!!”
Honey Don’t!, which hits theaters on August 22, is a dark comedy about Honey O’Donahue (Qualley), a small-town private investigator, who delves into a series of strange deaths tied to a mysterious church. Watch the trailer here!
